Why Do Animatronic Dinosaurs Need to Be Disassembled & Reassembled?
Why Are Dinosaurs Over 10 Meters Disassembled?
When it comes to animatronic dinosaurs, the ones that really leave a lasting impression are the large ones. Think about it - massive bodies towering dozens of meters high, thick limbs, and a presence that grabs everyone's attention no matter where they're placed. But while these giant animatronic dinosaurs are a hit with customers, their production, transportation, and installation come with their own set of challenges.
Transportation Challenges
The trucks we typically use for transporting products come in standard sizes: 4.2 meters, 6.8 meters, 9.6 meters, 13 meters, and 17.5 meters. The size and height of the dinosaur determine which truck we need. Smaller animatronic dinosaurs can be packed and transported as a whole, but larger ones? That's a different story.
For animatronic dinosaurs over 10 meters, disassembly is a must. Due to their massive size, workers start by welding the steel frame in separate parts—body, head, tail, and limbs. These parts are connected using high-strength screws and heavy-duty flanges. Each section is crafted individually and then assembled to check the final look.
Why Disassemble Dinosaurs Over 10 Meters?
When packing a dinosaur over 10 meters, we need to cut open the foam muscles, remove the screws at the joints, carefully lay it flat, and wrap it in bubble wrap for protection.
Now, you might be wondering: Why not just make it as one solid piece so it doesn't need to be disassembled?
-
Transportation Limits Large animatronic dinosaurs over 10 meters are huge—sometimes even dozens of meters long. Regular trucks can't handle something that size. For example, even after disassembling a Brachiosaurus, excluding the neck, the body and tail alone can still be over 10 meters long. That's why we make these giants in detachable sections.
-
Height Restrictions During transportation, a fully assembled dinosaur over 10 meters would exceed height limits on the road, making it impossible to transport legally.
Additionally, for animatronic dinosaurs over 10 meters, we recommend using specialized trucks for delivery. This minimizes the risk of damage during transit.
So, while it might seem like extra work, disassembling and reassembling these giants is the best way to ensure they arrive safely and in one piece! Let me know if you have more questions!
