How do we advise our clients to move animatronic dinosaurs? Many clients worry about moving their animatronic dinosaur products to the desired location, especially since these models are typically large. Let me break down the most common handling methods: 1. ForkliftsFor dinosaurs under 8 meters in length, a forklift is usually the go-to. The steel frame under the dinosaur is compact, so you can slide the forks in from the head or tail end. But heads and tails might block the lift arms, so it's smarter to slide the forks from the side - this lets you see ahead clearly. Just make sure to balance the dinosaur when lifting to prevent it from tipping over. 2. CranesBigger dinosaurs, like a 15-meter Tyrannosaurus Rex (which can weigh over 2 tons), need a crane. Don't stress - we've pre-installed at least two lifting points on the main spine beam during manufacturing, and we've tested the balance. Just thread a lifting strap or steel cable through the points, and you're good to go. 3. Installing Wheels on the BaseIf you're working in a tight space - like a mall or amusement park - where cranes or forklifts aren't feasible, we can add rubber wheels to the base when you place your order. The front two are swivel casters, the rear two are fixed, and all four have brakes. They're easy to roll into place, and the rubber won't scratch your floors. 4. Manual HandlingIn rough terrain - think jungles, swamps, or muddy paths - where machinery can't access, manual labor is the way to go. We'll pre-disassemble the dinosaur into sections (each light enough for four adults to carry). The only catch? You'll need to reassemble it on site, which takes a bit of elbow grease. Safety First!!!No matter the size, safety is key. If the dinosaur feels unbalanced while lifting, never take chances - adjust it until it's steady. Rushing this step could damage the model or hurt your team. If you have more questions, chat with your account manager. We've got tons of hands-on experience with installations and moves, so we'll tailor a solution for your specific needs. |
